Oregon events

Oregon motorcycle events, rallies and bike nights

Oregon motorcycle events are mostly local and mostly packed into the dry months: bike nights in Portland, Salem, Eugene, Bend and Medford, charity runs, club racing at Portland International Raceway, and Distinguished Gentleman's Rides in May. Big regional rallies are a ride away in Washington and Nevada. Here's the calendar and how to find and post local events in the free Rippin' app.

Racing and road trips

Racing, track days and rallies a ride away

Portland International Raceway hosts motorcycle club racing and track days, and Oregon Raceway Park near Grass Valley, east of the Cascades, runs track days on a dry, open circuit. Both are where speed belongs.

For a big rally, Oregon riders head north to the Oyster Run in Anacortes, Washington, a free gathering usually held in late September, or south and east to Street Vibrations in Reno, Nevada, in the fall. The Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in South Dakota in August is a classic long ride from Oregon. Check each organizer for dates.

Seasons

Oregon's motorcycle event calendar, by season

Winter (December to February): Toy runs in December, and indoor shows in Portland when they're on. Most outdoor events pause for the rain.

Spring (March to May): Season kickoff rides, swap meets and the Distinguished Gentleman's Ride in May. Pick dry days; the weather is still mixed.

Summer (June to August): Peak season. Weekly bike nights, club rides over the Cascades once the summer roads open, and track days.

Fall (September to November): Some of the best riding of the year in September, the Oyster Run just over the Washington line, then charity runs before the rain settles in. See the best time to ride in Oregon.
