Motorcycle group ride tracking: everyone on one live map

Rippin' does motorcycle group ride tracking the simple way: start a group ride and everyone in it shows on one live map while you ride. Your live location is only shared when you start a group ride or broadcast, never in the background. It's free on iPhone and Android.

How it works

How motorcycle group ride tracking works

  1. 1

    Plan it

Post a ride card with departure, route, stops and RSVPs, from your squad or on its own.

  2. 2

    Start the group ride

At the meeting spot, start the group ride. Everyone who joins shows up on the same live map.

  3. 3

    Ride

Phones go in pockets. Each rider's ride records as usual in the background.

  4. 4

    Regroup without guessing

At a stop, glance at the map to see who's close, who took the wrong turn and who's still at the gas station.

  5. 5

    Wrap it up

End the ride. Everyone gets their own Ride Wrapped, and the location sharing stops.

Privacy

Who can see you, and when

Live location in Rippin' is only shared when you start a group ride or broadcast. Close the group ride and the sharing ends. There's no always-on tracking for your squad or followers.

Your saved rides have their own protection too. Set a privacy safe zone and the part of every ride near home stays hidden from other riders.

In practice

Seven bikes, one map

Seven riders meet at a gas station for a mountain loop. The organizer starts the group ride and everyone joins before they roll out. Twenty minutes in, a rider at the back catches a long red light and loses the group.

Nobody has to pull over and call him. At the next turnout the leader checks the map, sees he's two miles back and on the right road, and the group waits a couple of minutes. Later a rider misses a turn, and the map shows it right away at the regroup. At the end, everyone's ride is saved separately, and because the route closed into a loop, each rider claimed turf and the squad's turf grew too.

How it connects

Group rides plus the rest of Rippin'

Group rides work best with a plan. Post a ride card from your squad, or have the AI ride planner build the loop with stops and pacing. Want strangers to join? Post it as a meet and it shows up in motorcycle events for riders nearby.

Because every rider is recording, the ride also plays the game. A closed loop claims turf for the crew in Turf Wars, and stops at poker stops deal everyone a card.

Pricing

Group rides: free vs Plus

Group rides, squads and ride plan cards are free on every plan. Plus ($4.99/mo) adds auto-recording, unlimited AI ride plans and 1.5x points on each rider's ride. Organizer Pro ($8.99/mo) adds recurring ride plans and unlimited, recurring meets for riders who host every week.

Tips

Straight answers

What group rides don't do

Rippin' doesn't connect to intercoms or Bluetooth headsets, and it has no offline maps, so the live map needs a signal to update. It also doesn't have crash detection. For a broader look at group ride apps, see our motorcycle group ride app guide.
