Squads

A motorcycle club app for the crew you actually ride with

Squads are the motorcycle club app built into Rippin'. Start a squad, send the invite code, and keep chat, ride plans and turf in one place. Turf you claim together counts for the crew, and squads get their own leaderboards and poker runs. Free on iPhone and Android.

What's inside

What the motorcycle club app gives your crew

How it works

Start a squad in a few taps

  1. 1

    Create the squad

Give it a name. Your club, your Sunday crew, the guys from the shop.

  2. 2

    Send the invite code

Text it, post it in the old group chat, put it on a sticker at the bike night.

  3. 3

    Plan the first ride

Post a ride card with the time, route and stops, and let people RSVP.

  4. 4

    Ride together

Start a group ride so everyone's on one map, and claim turf as a crew.

Why bother

Why a motorcycle crew app beats a group text

Group texts are where ride plans go to die. The meeting time is buried under 60 memes, half the crew never saw the change of route, and nobody knows who's actually coming. A motorcycle crew app puts the plan on a card with RSVPs and keeps the chat next to it.

The other difference is that a squad gives the crew something to do between rides. You can see the turf you hold, where you sit on the squad leaderboards this week, and who's been out riding. That's what keeps a crew riding together after the first month. We wrote more about it in why riders need squads.

In practice

A small crew, a full season

Six riders who used to coordinate in a group text start a squad. The organizer posts a Saturday ride card: meet at 8 at the coffee shop, canyon loop, lunch stop, home by 2. Five RSVP. One asks about gas in the chat and the organizer @mentions him with the stop.

On the ride they start a group ride so the slower bike never gets lost, and the loop claims turf for the squad. Over the next few weeks the crew starts picking routes that grow their turf, and a monthly squad poker run becomes the ride everyone shows up for. By the end of the season the squad leaderboard is the thing they argue about at the bike night.

For hosts

For clubs, shops and organizers

It's built for shops, brands and riders who host. Your meets show up for riders nearby in motorcycle events.
