Ride together
The motorcycle group ride app that keeps the crew on one map
Rippin' is a free motorcycle group ride app. Start a group ride and everyone shows up on one live map while you ride. Plan it beforehand with a ride card that has the departure, route, stops and RSVPs, keep the chat in your squad, and claim turf together that counts for the whole crew.

How it works
How group rides work in the Rippin' motorcycle group ride app
The details are on the group rides page. If you're starting from zero, the route planner guide covers building the loop first.
- 1
Make the plan
Create a ride plan with departure time, route and stops, and share it. Riders RSVP so you know who's coming.
- 2
Start the group ride
At the meetup, start a group ride. Everyone who joins shows up on one live map.
- 3
Ride
Phones stay in pockets or on mounts. The map is there at stops and regroups, so you can see who's close.
- 4
Wrap it up
Every rider gets their own Ride Wrapped, and turf the squad claimed counts for the crew.
What matters
What to look for in a group ride app
Most group ride apps get the map right. The difference is everything around it.
- Free for everyone. If one rider has to pay to join, half the group won't bother. Rippin' group rides are free.
- Works on both phones. Crews mix iPhone and Android. Rippin' runs on both.
- A plan people can see. Departure, route, stops and RSVPs in one place beats a long group text.
- Privacy you control. Live location only while the group ride is on.
- A reason to ride again next week. Squad turf, squad boards and squad poker runs give the crew something to come back for.
Squads
Squads: your crew, in one place
Group rides are better when the group exists between rides too. That's what a squad is for.
More on the squads page, and the case for running one in why riders need squads.
- Invite codeStart a squad and send the invite code. Riders join with the code.
- Chat with @mentionsPlan rides in chat and @mention the rider who's always late.
- Squad turfTurf claimed with your squad counts for the crew on the live map.
- Squad boardsSquad leaderboards for miles, turf and rep, by week and by season.
- Squad poker runsSet up your own poker run for the crew. See poker runs.
Privacy
Your location is shared when you say so
Rippin' only shares your live location when you start a group ride or broadcast. The rest of the time, other riders see your finished rides, not where you are right now. You can also set a home privacy safe zone so the part of every ride near your house stays hidden from other riders.
Ride smart
Group riding basics every crew should agree on
The app keeps you connected. These habits keep you safe. They're standard group-riding advice for a reason.
- Hold a quick rider meeting. Route, stops, hand signals and who leads and sweeps.
- Arrive with a full tank. Nobody wants to stop five minutes in.
- Ride a staggered formation on straights, single file in the curves. Keep space to react.
- Put newer riders right behind the leader. The pace should fit the least experienced rider, not the fastest.
- Ride your own ride. If the group is going faster than you're comfortable with, back off. The regroup point isn't going anywhere.
- Keep it small. Big groups ride better split into smaller groups of a handful of bikes.

Rippin' doesn't connect to intercoms or Bluetooth headsets, so keep using your comms as usual. What it adds is the stuff around the ride: the plan, the crew, a meets and events calendar to find more riders, and a game you play together. For the wider picture, see the best free motorcycle app guide.

How to find a group to ride with
Open the events map and look for bike nights and meets near you. They're the easiest way to meet riders who already ride your roads. RSVP, show up, and the group rides tend to follow. The motorcycle events app guide covers how to find them. If you ride in the desert Southwest, our Arizona guide lists the riding scene there too.
