Plan the ride

A motorcycle route planner app built around loops and your crew

Rippin' is a free motorcycle route planner app. Tap roads on the map to build a loop, ask the AI trip planner for a day trip or a multi-day run, then share it as a ride plan so the crew actually shows up. Ride it with turn-by-turn inside Rippin' or hand it to Apple Maps or Google Maps.

Three ways to plan

How the Rippin' motorcycle route planner app works

Some days you know exactly which roads you want. Some days you just want two hours of good riding. Rippin' covers both.

Loop builder

Build a loop in a few taps

While you ride, Rippin' shows route options and alternates, your arrival time, traffic and the posted speed limit. Building loops on purpose is also how Turf Wars works: the land inside a closed loop becomes yours.

  1. 1

    Start from the map

Open the map where you want to ride. Turf, segments and poker stops are on it, so you can route past them.

  2. 2

    Tap the roads

Tap the roads you want, in order. The loop follows them.

  3. 3

    Close it up

Bring it back to where you started. A loop that closes on itself also claims turf when you ride it.

  4. 4

    Ride or hand off

Ride it with turn-by-turn in Rippin', or send it to Apple Maps or Google Maps.

AI planner

Let the AI plan the day trip

The AI planner is for the days you don't want to think about it. It builds loops, day trips and multi-day runs, and it plans stops and pacing so a long day doesn't turn into a slog. The free version has limits. Rippin' Plus, at $4.99 a month, makes AI ride plans unlimited.

A plan is a starting point, not gospel. Look it over, check fuel range and road conditions, and adjust. Our write-up on AI motorcycle trip planning covers how to get good plans out of it.

Group plans

Plan the route, then get the crew there

A route on your phone doesn't help if nobody shows up. A Rippin' ride plan puts departure time, route, stops and RSVPs on one card you can share in your squad chat or anywhere else. Organizer Pro adds recurring ride plans for weekly rides.

On the day, start a group ride and everyone shows up on one live map. See group rides and squads for how that part works.

Plans also make it easy to keep a regular ride going. Post the Sunday loop once, let people RSVP, and the riders who show up every week become the core of a squad.

Honest comparison

When another route planner is the better pick

Rippin' plans good loops and gets your crew together. It is not the deepest touring planner out there.

If you plan multi-state tours point by point on a laptop, or you need offline maps, Kurviger, Calimoto or REVER will serve you better. Check the stores for current pricing. The difference between the two jobs is laid out in ride planning vs ride tracking.

FAQ

Questions riders ask.

What is a good free motorcycle route planner app?

Rippin' is free on iPhone and Android and lets you build loops by tapping roads, plan trips with AI, and share ride plans. Calimoto also lets you plan for free and charges to navigate.

Can I plan a motorcycle loop and get turn-by-turn?

Yes. Build a loop in Rippin', then ride it with turn-by-turn directions in the app or send it to Apple Maps or Google Maps.

Does Rippin' have an AI trip planner?

Yes. It builds loops, day trips and multi-day runs with stops and pacing. The free version has limits, and Plus at $4.99 a month makes AI plans unlimited.

Can I share a planned route with my group?

Yes. A ride plan shares departure time, route, stops and RSVPs on one card, so everyone knows where and when.

Can I import routes from another planner?

You can import old rides from GPX files and export your rides as GPX. For heavy waypoint-by-waypoint planning, a dedicated planner like Kurviger may suit you better.

Does the route planner work offline?

No. Rippin' has no offline maps. If you plan rides through areas with no signal, use a nav app with offline maps for those trips.

What's the difference between a route planner and a ride tracker?

A route planner decides where you'll go before you leave. A ride tracker records where you actually went. Rippin' does both: plan a loop or let the AI plan it, then record the ride so it counts for turf, segments and points.
