Massachusetts events
Massachusetts motorcycle events, races and bike nights
Massachusetts motorcycle events run from weekly bike nights and spring blessings to summer charity rides and fall toy runs. For racing, AMA Supercross has visited Gillette Stadium in Foxborough in recent seasons, and Southwick's sand track has a long motocross history. The biggest rally nearby is Laconia Motorcycle Week in New Hampshire, usually in June. Here's the calendar and how to find events near you.

The calendar
The Massachusetts motorcycle calendar, season by season
Spring (April and May): Dealers, clubs and churches hold blessing of the bikes events as the season opens. May is Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month, and the Distinguished Gentleman's Ride runs worldwide each May. Spring is also when racing fans watch for Supercross in Foxborough.
Summer (June to August): Bike nights run weekly at dealers, shops and bars across the state. Charity rides and memorial rides fill most weekends, and June is rally month, with Laconia and Americade both a day's ride away.
Fall (September to November): Foliage rides out west, fall charity runs and the first toy runs, which collect gifts for kids before the holidays.
Winter (December to March): The riding calendar goes quiet until spring. For the weather behind all this, see the best time to ride in Massachusetts.

Big rallies and destinations for Massachusetts riders
Massachusetts doesn't host a major multi-day rally of its own, but two of the biggest in the East are close. Dates change year to year, so check the organizer.

- The Distinguished Gentleman's RideEvery May, riders on classic and vintage-style bikes dress up and ride to raise money for men's health, in cities around the world. Register on the DGR site for the nearest ride.
- Springfield, Indian's hometownIndian started building motorcycles in Springfield in 1901. The city's museums have shown Indian motorcycles from that history, which makes a good destination ride; check what's on display before you go.

How to find bike nights in Massachusetts
Bike nights are the backbone of the Massachusetts riding scene. Dealers, shops, bars and diners host them on a set weeknight through the warm months, from the North and South Shores to Worcester, the Pioneer Valley and the Berkshires. Some draw hundreds of bikes with music and food trucks. Most are a parking lot, a burger and people to ride with.
Ask at your shop, follow local clubs and check the events map. In Rippin', open Meets, set your area, and the nearest bike nights, meets and rides show first. RSVP so the host can plan and other riders can see who's going. If you're bringing a crew, start a group ride so everyone is on one live map on the way there.

Post your Massachusetts motorcycle event
Posting an event is free for any rider. Shops and clubs that host a lot can use Organizer Pro ($8.99/mo) for unlimited and recurring meets, official events on the calendar and recurring ride plans. A shop that hosts a bike night can also become a poker stop, so every rider who shows up gets dealt a card. Read more about motorcycle events in Rippin'. Before you go
Riding from Massachusetts to Laconia and back
- Book lodging early. Rooms around the Lakes Region fill well ahead of Motorcycle Week.
- Take the back roads one way. The interstates are fastest, but central New Hampshire's state roads make the trip part of the fun.
- Pack your helmet. New Hampshire has no helmet law, but Massachusetts requires one for every rider, so you need it the moment you cross back.
- Carry E-ZPass. Some New Hampshire highways are tolled, and so is the Mass Pike.
- Share a ride plan with departure time, route and stops so the crew leaves together.
- Ride home in daylight. Deer and tired rally traffic make the last hour the riskiest.
