Tennessee motorcycle events, rallies and bike nights
Tennessee motorcycle events run from spring through fall, but the state's biggest draw isn't one rally. It's the mountain roads, with Deals Gap and Tellico Plains filling with bikes every good weekend. Add bike nights in Nashville, Knoxville, Chattanooga and Memphis, charity rides and toy runs, racing at Bristol, and big rallies a day's ride away. Every good weekend
Tennessee's real rally: the mountain riding weekends
Tennessee doesn't need a giant rally to draw riders. From spring through fall, Deals Gap at the bottom of the Dragon, the Cherohala Skyway visitor center in Tellico Plains, and Townsend on the quiet side of the Smokies fill with bikes from all over the country. Stop at the motels, gas stations and diners there on a Saturday and you've found the scene.
October fall color is the busiest stretch, with Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends close behind. If you're planning a trip around a riding weekend, book rooms early and ride the famous roads early in the morning. Worth the ride
Big rallies within a day's ride of Tennessee
These come around every year. We don't list exact dates because they change year to year, so check each organizer before you plan.
- Barber Vintage FestivalA big vintage motorcycle festival at Barber Motorsports Park near Birmingham, Alabama, usually in October, with racing, a huge swap meet and the Barber museum. An easy ride from Chattanooga or Nashville.
- Bikes, Blues & BBQOne of the biggest rallies in the South, held in Fayetteville, Arkansas, in September. A long day's ride west from Memphis.
- Thunder BeachSpring and fall rallies in Panama City Beach, Florida. A long haul south from Middle Tennessee, and a classic run to open or close the season.
- Daytona Bike Week and BiketoberfestThe big Florida pair in Daytona Beach: Bike Week in March and Biketoberfest in October. Plenty of Tennessee riders make a multi-day trip of it.
- Myrtle Beach bike ralliesThe Myrtle Beach rallies in South Carolina each May. Ride through the mountains on the way and make a week of it.
- The Distinguished Gentleman's RideEvery May, riders dress sharp on classic and vintage-style bikes to raise money for men's health. Tennessee cities usually host rides; register on the DGR site for the date and route.
Races to watch
Racing in and near Tennessee
Bristol Motor Speedway hosts NASCAR weekends, including a spring race and its famous night race late in the summer. It's car racing, not a motorcycle event, but the roads around Bristol, like the Snake on US 421 and Backbone Rock on TN 133, turn a race ticket into a riding weekend.
AMA Supercross has held rounds at Nissan Stadium in Nashville in recent seasons. Check the series schedule for the current year.
Barber Motorsports Park near Birmingham hosts professional motorcycle road racing as well as the vintage festival. If you want to go fast, a track day is the place for it, not the Dragon.
Give back
Charity rides, poker runs and toy runs
Charity rides are a big part of the Tennessee calendar: memorial rides, poker runs for local causes, rides for veterans and first responders, and holiday toy runs in November and December. Most are run by clubs, dealerships and local chapters and posted a few weeks out, so check the events map as the season goes on.
A classic charity poker run works a lot like poker runs in Rippin': ride to stops, collect cards, best hand wins. In Rippin', each stop deals one card when you arrive, no QR codes, and your best five-card hand posts to the poker leaderboard.

Post your Tennessee motorcycle event
Any rider can post a meet or event for free: name, time, place and a short note on what to expect. A weekly bike night or a monthly breakfast ride can repeat, so you post it once and the next date always shows. Share it to your squad and the feed, and riders RSVP from the app.
Shops, clubs and brands that host a lot can use Organizer Pro ($8.99/mo) for unlimited and recurring meets and official events on the calendar. A shop that hosts a bike night can also become a poker stop, so every rider who shows up gets a card. More on motorcycle events in Rippin'.
Seasons
Tennessee's motorcycle event calendar, by season
Spring (March to May): Bike nights restart, charity rides return, and the Distinguished Gentleman's Ride lands in May. Pigeon Forge's spring car show week clogs the strip, so ride around it.
Summer (June to August): Mountain weekends are busy, and evening bike nights in the cities beat the heat. NASCAR's night race at Bristol arrives late in the summer.
Fall (September to November): The peak. Fall-color riding weekends, with Bikes, Blues & BBQ and the Barber Vintage Festival within reach and Biketoberfest to the south.
Winter (December to February): Holiday toy runs, then a quiet stretch. Plan next season's trips and keep an eye on the map for swap meets and shows.
