Passport and badges
A motorcycle passport app that stamps every town you ride through
Rippin' is a motorcycle passport app that works while you ride. Record a ride and you get a passport stamp for every town you ride through, plus badges for the places you've actually been. Stamps and badges both pay points, and it's all free on iPhone and Android.

What it is
A passport you fill by riding
Riders have kept passports for years: stamp books at rallies, iron butt certificates, a map on the garage wall with pins in it. They all have the same problem. You have to remember to do it, and half the time the stamp is at a counter that's closed.
Rippin' does it from the ride itself. Ride through a town with a ride recording and that town goes in your passport. No counter, no check-in button, no photo of a sign. Badges work the same way. They unlock for places you've actually ridden, so a full badge case means something.
Over a season the passport turns into a record of where you've really been. It's the list you pull up when someone at a bike night asks how far you've ridden this year, and it's honest, because every stamp came from a ride.
How it works
How the motorcycle passport app works
- 1
Record your ride
Tap Record Ride and put the phone away. Plus members can have rides recorded for them.
- 2
Ride through towns
Every town you ride through goes in your passport as a stamp. You don't have to stop.
- 3
Unlock badges
Badges unlock for places you've actually been.
- 4
Collect the points
Stamps and badges pay points on top of what the ride itself pays.
On a real ride
A backcountry stamp run
Take a day ride out of San Diego into the backcountry. You usually go out to Julian for pie and straight back. This time you take the long way, through a couple of towns you've only ever seen on signs, and come home a different road.
Same day out, same pie. But the long way stamps several new towns in your passport and pays points for each one. That's the point of a passport: it gives you a reason to take the turn you always skip. The San Diego ride guide is a good place to find the roads that connect them.
Free vs Plus
Free for everyone
The passport and badges are free and unlimited. Every rider gets stamps for every town and every badge they earn. Rippin' Plus ($4.99/mo) pays 1.5x points on every ride and can record rides for you, which helps on long days when you'd otherwise forget to tap Record. It doesn't unlock a different passport.
Tips
Filling your passport faster
- Take the road through town instead of the bypass. Riding through is what counts.
- Use the Explore map. Places you've already been show as been there, so the gaps are easy to spot.
- Ask the AI ride planner for a loop through towns you haven't ridden yet.
- Record the whole day on a trip, not just the fun part. The towns between the good roads count too.
- Ride with a friend who has a thinner passport. A loop through a few new towns is an easy sell over coffee.
How it connects
Where stamps and badges show up
Your badges sit in your Garage next to your bikes, your lifetime miles and your level. The points they pay go into the same balance as your ride points, so a good stamp run helps toward gear-drop entries and turf locks. Riding more to fill the passport also moves your rider level.
FAQ
Questions riders ask.
What is a motorcycle passport app?
It's an app that keeps a record of the places you've ridden, like a stamp book. Rippin' stamps every town you ride through automatically from your recorded ride.
Do I have to stop or check in to get a stamp?
No. You get a stamp for every town you ride through while recording. There's no check-in button.
Do badges and stamps pay points?
Yes. Both pay points, on top of the points the ride itself pays.
Is the passport free?
Yes. The passport and badges are free on iPhone and Android.
Where can I see my badges?
In your Garage, alongside your bikes, recorded rides, lifetime miles and XP.
Is it like a rally stamp book?
Same idea, less hassle. A stamp book needs a counter and a person with a stamp. Rippin' stamps come straight from your recorded ride, so there's nothing to find and nothing to lose.
