Explore map

A motorcycle map app that shows what riders actually care about

The Rippin' Explore map is a motorcycle map app built around riding, not driving. Turf, segments, poker stops, meets, popular spots, local tips and rider chatter sit on one map, and places you've already been show as been there. It's free on iPhone and Android.

What it is

What's on the Explore map

A regular map shows you roads. Explore shows you what's happening on them.

How it works

How to use a motorcycle map app to find your next ride

  1. 1

    Open Explore

Look at the map around where you are or where you're headed.

  2. 2

    Look for what you want

A segment you haven't ridden, a poker stop for a card, a meet tonight, or turf worth taking.

  3. 3

    Tap Route me here

From any spot on the map, get directions there inside Rippin' or hand off to Apple Maps or Google Maps.

  4. 4

    Or build a loop

Tap roads to build a loop with the loop builder and ride it turn by turn.

  5. 5

    Record and ride

Tap Record Ride so segments, turf, cards and stamps all count.

On a real ride

A free Sunday in a new area

You just moved and don't know the roads. Sunday morning you open Explore. There's a segment twenty minutes out that a local rider added, with ratings from riders who've ridden it. There's a poker stop at a cafe past the end of it, and a bike night at a shop on Wednesday.

You tap Route me here on the segment, ride it, get your coffee and your card at the cafe, and RSVP to Wednesday. On the way home everything you rode is marked been there, so next Sunday you can see exactly which roads are still new.

Fair comparison

What it's good at, and what it isn't

Explore is for finding what to ride and who to ride with. It's not a dedicated navigation app, and Rippin' does not have offline maps. If pure navigation and offline maps are what you need most, REVER and Calimoto are better at that. Plenty of riders use one of them for navigation and Rippin' for everything else. See Rippin' vs REVER and Rippin' vs Calimoto.

Free vs Plus

The whole map is free

Every layer of the Explore map is free, and so is Route me here and the loop builder. Rippin' Plus ($4.99/mo) pays 1.5x points on every ride, gives 25% off turf locks, adds auto-recording and makes AI ride plans unlimited.

How it connects

Everything on the map pays off

Every layer on Explore ties back to the game. Segments put you on a board, poker stops build your hand for poker runs, new towns stamp your passport, and meets come from the events calendar. All of it pays points when you ride it.

FAQ

Questions riders ask.

What is the best motorcycle map app for finding rides?

No. Rippin' does not have offline maps.

Can Rippin' give me directions?

Yes. Use Route me here from any spot, or build a loop and ride it with turn-by-turn directions in Rippin' or hand it to Apple Maps or Google Maps.

What does been there mean on the map?

Spots you've already been are marked as been there, so the places you haven't ridden stand out.
