Ride tracking
The motorcycle ride tracker app you start once and forget
Rippin' is a free motorcycle ride tracker app for iPhone and Android. Tap Record Ride, put the phone in your pocket and ride. It tracks your route, distance, moving time, elevation and speed in the background, then hands you a Ride Wrapped recap when you tap Stop.

What you get
What the motorcycle ride tracker app records
One tap starts it. Everything below happens on its own while the phone sits in your jacket.
On iPhone, a Live Activity shows the ride on your lock screen while you record. Home-screen widgets on iPhone and Android show your turf and level between rides.
- Route. Your line on the map, start to finish.
- Distance. Miles for the ride, and they add up to your lifetime miles in the Garage.
- Moving time. TIME counts the time you were actually moving, so a 40-minute lunch doesn't make the ride look slow.
- Elevation. Climbs and drops, handy on canyon and mountain days.
- Speed. Recorded with the ride. Rippin' never rewards speed on public roads.
- The game layer. Segments you rode through, turf your loops closed, poker cards dealt at stops, and the points all of it paid.
How it works
Three taps, start to finish
- 1
Tap Record Ride
It's one button on the home screen. No route to build, no laps to arm, no settings to check.
- 2
Ride like normal
Phone in your pocket or on the mount. Rippin' tracks in the background and clocks any segments and turf you cover.
- 3
Tap Stop
The ride saves with its map, distance, moving time and elevation, and you get a Ride Wrapped recap.
- 4
Share it or keep it
Post it to the feed, send a share card to your story, or just let it sit in your ride history.
In practice
A Saturday loop, start to finish
Say you leave the house at 8. You tapped Record Ride in the driveway, and because you set a privacy safe zone, the first stretch near home stays hidden from other riders.
You ride out to a canyon road a local rider added as a segment. You don't touch the phone. Rippin' notices you rode through it and puts you on its board. You stop at a moto cafe that happens to be a poker stop, and a card lands in your hand when you pull in. Forty minutes of coffee later you're back on the bike, and none of that time counts against your moving time.
You take a different road home, so the ride closes into a big loop. When you tap Stop in the driveway, Ride Wrapped shows the map, the miles, the segment, the card, the new patch of turf with your name on it, and the points the ride paid. That's one ride you were going to take anyway.

Tips
Tips for cleaner ride tracking
- Hit Record before you pull out, not at the first light. You don't want to be touching the phone in traffic.
- Set your safe zone before your first ride, not after.
- On long days, keep the phone topped up the way you would with any GPS app.
- Coming from another app? Bring your history over with GPX import and export.
- Check the Explore map before you leave. A small detour through a segment or past a poker stop turns a normal ride into a better one.
How it connects
Why recording is the start of everything
In Rippin', the recorder is the engine. A ride that closes back on itself claims land in Turf Wars. A ride through a rider-added road puts you on its board in segments and leaderboards. A ride past a shop or cafe on the map deals a card in poker runs. Every one of those pays points and rewards, and the recap lands as a Ride Wrapped you can share.
Every ride also lands in your Garage, where lifetime miles, XP and badges add up over the season.
Straight answers
What this tracker doesn't do
For a wider look at free trackers, read our free motorcycle ride tracker guide, or, if you came from cycling apps, see how Rippin' compares on our Strava for motorcycles page.
- No crash detection.
- No lean-angle or track telemetry. It's built for street riding.
- No Apple Watch app.
- No offline maps. If you ride where there's no signal, carry a backup map in another app.
FAQ
Questions riders ask.
Is there a free motorcycle ride tracker app?
Yes. Rippin' records every ride for free on iPhone and Android, with no ride limit. Plus adds auto-recording if you want rides captured without tapping Record.
Do I need to keep the app open while I ride?
No. Tap Record Ride and put the phone away. Rippin' tracks in the background.
Does it count stops in my ride time?
No. TIME counts moving time, so gas, coffee and lunch stops don't drag your numbers down.
Can I import rides from another app?
Yes. Rippin' imports GPX files and exports your rides as GPX.
Will it drain my battery?
Rippin' is built to track in the background. On long rides, keep your phone charged like you would with any GPS app.
Does the ride tracker have crash detection?
No. Rippin' does not offer crash detection, so don't rely on it for that.
Tap Record. Ride. That's it.
