Nebraska events
Nebraska motorcycle events, rallies and bike nights
Nebraska motorcycle events are mostly local and seasonal: bike nights in Omaha, Lincoln, Grand Island and Kearney, charity rides and poker runs in small towns, and toy runs in December. The biggest event for Nebraska riders is just over the border: the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally every August, with Nebraska's best roads on the way. Here's the calendar, and how to find and post events in the free Rippin' app.

The August run
Riding to Sturgis through Nebraska
For a lot of riders from Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas and beyond, Nebraska is the road to Sturgis, and the roads are better than the interstate. US 83 crosses the Sandhills from North Platte to Valentine. US 385 runs up the panhandle past Alliance and Carhenge to Chadron. US 20 links them across the north through the Pine Ridge. See the best motorcycle roads in Nebraska for what to watch for on each.
In early August those routes fill with bikes. Fuel stops in Valentine, Alliance and Chadron get busy, so fill up early and often, and leave room for riders who don't know the road. Watch for deer at dawn and dusk, and for storms building in the afternoon.

Getting there
Make the ride to the event count
- Claim turf on the wayRide out one way and home another and the loop closes, so the land inside becomes your turf. Most of Nebraska is unclaimed, so a long ride to a Sandhills poker run can claim a lot. See Turf Wars.
- Collect poker cardsRoute past Rippin' poker stops and pick up a card at each one. Your best five-card hand posts to the poker leaderboard.
- Stamp your passportEvery small town you ride through on the way adds a passport stamp, and stamps pay points.
- Check the weatherRippin' sends weather alerts before you ride, and riders flag road hazards on the map. Out on the plains, that matters.
