Texas motorcycle events, rallies and bike nights
The biggest of the Texas motorcycle events is the Lone Star Rally, which takes over Galveston every fall, usually in November. Around it you'll find races worth watching at Circuit of The Americas and in Texas stadiums, the Distinguished Gentleman's Ride every May, holiday toy runs, and a bike night somewhere in every big Texas city each week. Here's the calendar, and how to find and post events in the free Rippin' app.

How to find bike nights in Texas
Rallies happen once a year. Bike nights happen every week, and they're where you meet the riders you'll actually ride with. Rippin' puts them on the same map as turf, segments and poker stops.
Texas bike nights follow the heat. In summer many move later into the evening or switch to early Saturday breakfast rides, and spring and fall bring the biggest turnouts. Dealerships, ice houses and barbecue joints host a lot of them, especially in the Hill Country.

Post your Texas motorcycle event
Any rider can post an event for free, and a bike night you post gets seen by every Rippin' rider nearby.
Shops, clubs and brands that host a lot of events can use Organizer Pro ($8.99/mo) for unlimited and recurring meets, official events on the calendar and recurring ride plans. A shop that hosts a bike night can also become a poker stop, so every rider who shows up gets a card. Read more about motorcycle events in Rippin'.

Getting there
Make the ride to the event count
- Claim turf on the wayRide there and back on different roads and the loop closes, so the land inside becomes your turf. Most of Texas is unclaimed, so a long ride to Galveston can claim a lot.
- Collect poker cardsRoute past poker stops and pick up a card at each one. Your best five-card hand posts to the poker leaderboard. See poker runs.
- Plan it with the crewShare a ride plan with departure time, route, stops and RSVPs so the whole crew meets at the same gas station at the same time.
- Check the weatherRippin' sends weather alerts before you ride. On the Gulf in fall, and in Hill Country storm season, that matters.
Seasons
Texas motorcycle event calendar, by season
Spring (March to May): Peak season. Wildflower rides through the Hill Country, MotoGP at COTA when it's on the calendar, charity runs, and the Distinguished Gentleman's Ride in May. Spring storms can cancel outdoor events on short notice.
Summer (June to August): Events move to evenings and early mornings. Lake runs and night meets take over, and the Davis Mountains are the cool escape for a weekend trip.
Fall (September to November): The second big season. Bikes, Blues & BBQ pulls North Texas riders to Arkansas in September, and the Lone Star Rally closes out the year in Galveston in November.
Winter (December to February): Toy runs in December, Supercross in the stadiums, and mild-weather meets in South Texas and the Valley. See the best time to ride in Texas for the full picture.

- Check the forecast. Hurricane season on the Gulf runs through November 30.
- Ride home in daylight. Deer are hardest to see at dusk on rural roads.
- Share a ride plan with your squad so everyone knows the departure time, route and stops.
