The game is the ride

A motorcycle game app where the game is your real ride

Rippin' is not a racing game you play on your couch. It's a free motorcycle game app that runs on your actual rides: close a loop and claim the land inside as turf, collect poker cards at real stops, stack points and level up. It rewards miles, places and showing up. It never rewards speed.

The modes

How the Rippin' motorcycle game app works

You don't open a game and pick a level. You tap Record Ride, go ride, and the game happens in the background. When you stop, Ride Wrapped shows what you won.

Turf Wars

Turf Wars: claim the roads you ride

Ride with your squad and the turf counts for the crew. You can see the whole map, yours and everyone else's, at live.rippin.app. The backstory is in Turf Wars, the motorcycle game.

  1. 1

    Ride a loop

Plan a route that comes back to where it started. The loop builder helps.

  2. 2

    Claim the land

When your loop closes, the land inside becomes your turf on the live map, with your name on it. Empty land is free to claim.

  3. 3

    Carve a rival

Ride a tighter loop through someone else's turf to carve that piece out.

  4. 4

    Lock your best ground

Spend points to lock turf so it can't be touched. Plus gets 25% off locks.

Poker and segments

Poker runs and segments, without the stopwatch mentality

Poker runs are the oldest motorcycle game there is, and Rippin' just removes the paper. Ride to a poker stop, and it deals you a card when you arrive. No QR codes. Hold five, swap the ones you don't want, and your hand posts to the poker leaderboard. How fast you got there has nothing to do with the hand. The full guide is the motorcycle poker run app page.

Segments are stretches of road a rider added and someone on the Rippin' team checked before they went live. Ride through one and you're timed automatically, then you're on its board, and a crown goes to the rider who owns it. We frame segments as boards and crowns on purpose. Rippin' does not reward speed on public roads, and a segment is never a reason to ride beyond the limit or your skill. Anyone can add a road through the community process.

The rules of the road

The rules we play by

A game on public roads only works if it never asks you to ride worse. Here's how Rippin' is built around that.

Multiplayer

Play it with your crew

The game gets better with friends. Squads share turf on the map, have their own squad leaderboards for miles, turf and rep by week and season, and can set up their own poker runs. Your rides post to the feed, your level-ups post too, and the rider who carved your favorite loop is going to hear about it in chat.

If you've ever chased a board on a bicycle app and wished motorcycles had something like it, read the Strava for motorcycles. Strava itself has no motorcycle segments.

Price

Is the motorcycle game free?

Yes, all of it. Turf Wars, poker runs, segments, squads, points on every ride and a free entry on every gear drop cost nothing, with no limit on how much you play. Rippin' Plus at $4.99 a month pays 1.5x points per ride, gives 25% off turf locks and adds auto-recording, but it doesn't unlock a single mode. The full free vs paid breakdown is on the best free motorcycle app page.

The map is nationwide. Turf is up for grabs anywhere you ride, whether that's the coast, the mountains or the wide-open desert in our Arizona guide.

FAQ

Questions riders ask.

Is there a motorcycle game app for real rides?

Yes. Rippin' turns your real rides into a game: claim turf with loops, collect poker cards at real stops, earn points and level up. It's free on iPhone and Android.

Does Rippin' reward speed?

No. Points come from miles, segments, turf and poker hands. Segments are boards and crowns, not races, and Rippin' does not reward speed on public roads.

How does Turf Wars work?

Ride a loop that closes back on itself and the land inside becomes your turf on the live map. Ride a tighter loop through someone else's turf to carve a piece out, and spend points to lock your best ground.

Do I have to look at my phone while riding?

No. Tap Record Ride before you roll and the game runs in the background. Ride Wrapped shows what you earned when you stop.

Is the game free?

Yes. Every part of the game is free and unlimited. Plus at $4.99 a month changes what your rides pay, not what you can do.

Can I play with friends?

Yes. Squads share turf, have squad leaderboards and can run their own poker runs. Riders on iPhone and Android play on the same map.
